The booth presents an ambitious project by Henni Alftan specially designed for her stunning series Déjà-vus. The Déjà-vus are diptychs that are destined not to be hung next to each other, not to be seen together. These are conceived as a distorting mirror: the same scene is viewed from a different point of view, with an addition or a displacement. The stand is separated into two identical spaces by a partition. On either side of the partition the paintings will be arranged in mirror image. The idea is not be to compare or seek out differences between the paintings, but rather to facilitate a singular, disruptive experience of painting and space.
